Anti Aging Vitamins

Growing old is a condition that most people are not happy about. This is particularly true of women. There are women who wish that the lines on their faces would disappear, there are others who are concerned with bringing back the vitality that youth offers. The ability to move around and do work with that spring in the step is something that most miss with the passing years.

There is a school of thought that says that when hormonal changes turn down the inner thermostat in our body, aging occurs. So then if the hormone levels are replaced to those of a young healthy adult it would restart our brain, so to speak and the cell receptor sensitizers would do the needful.

One of the reasons for depression, mood swings, fatigue, loss of memory and weight loss that has no explanation, is that there is an imbalance between the estrogen and progesterone levels. There are over-the-counter medicines available to correct this imbalance like soy products and creams that provide the extra hormones when absorbed by the skin.

It has also been found that free radicals are becoming increasingly dangerous to our health. Free radicals are defined as unstable renegade molecules of oxygen. When these collide with other tissues in our body they cause a burst of light. Then they look for other molecules to combine with them and gain some stability. The free radicals which are good for you will help your body fight to keep itself healthy and keep the muscle tone smooth. These muscles, in turn, keep your internal organs working properly.

On the same note, an excess of these free radicals tend to run wild and cause damage to healthy and unhealthy areas of the body. This is where the incidence of problems like cancer and heart diseases come up. In defense of these attacks by excess of free radicals, the concept of antioxidants has come up. These have proved to be an effective shield against these free radicals.

Antioxidants are seen to alter cancer growth and do the job of anticarcinogens. They work on the principle of donating an electron to the free radical and helping it convert to a relatively harmless molecule. It protects against damage to blood vessel membranes which in turn ensures a good supply of blood to the heart and the brain thereby preventing problems.

Antioxidants can be found in fruits, vegetables and grains. Among the many antioxidants, some of the important ones are Lycopene, Lypoic, Xanthones, Dopamine and Carnosine. Lycopene is found in tomatoes and is needed by the adrenal and prostrate glands, the liver, colon and the testes and it is effective in protecting the digestive tracts from cancer.

Lypoic can quench the free radicals found in water and fat cells. It is an acid and aids converting carbohydrates into energy and antioxidants by breaking down sugars.

Xanthones is a bitter compound that has very strong antioxidant effects on the person’s nervous system. It is useful in treating depression, is able to reduce the appetite and take care of other obsessions. Here a series of hormonal reactions leads to the release of dopamine that exists in the brain’s pleasure centers. Dopamine is an energizing neurotransmitter that aids reduction in appetite and stimulates the pituitary gland. This gland’s job is to release the growth hormone and works to improve the immune system. There is an incidence of motor dysfunction that comes with aging and blueberries are considered a good source of dopamine which plays an important part in decreasing the rate of aging.

And finally, Carnosine found in the muscle tissues, the brain and the lens of the human eye is a natural antioxidant and an important amino acid. It can protect cell membranes and structures and works to cope with stress reduction, hyperactivity, muscle fatigue and improves sleep patterns.

How Would You Like To Have A Razor Sharp Memory?

Posted by admin on June 17, 2009
Posted under Memory Improvement

Forgetful?

Can’t remember where you put things?

Honey! Where did I put my damn keys?

Do you forget important dates like your…oops! Anniversary?

Peoples names, birthdays, places, events, what you studied, etc,
all draw a blank?

If so, just relax. Don’t get so serious about it. The whole
world isn’t about to stop just because you forget a few things,
right?

Many people do experience memory problems, regardless of age,
sex, or social standing. You didn’t think it was just you, did
you? Don’t think only aging people can experience forgetfulness,
because everyone can have some memory loss from time to time.

You want a sharper memory? Try these techniques:

1. You have to be interested in what you want to remember or
memorize. Let’s say for instance you love to study History more
than any other subject. Do you think you would remember History
more than your studies in other subjects? Absolutely. By
becoming more interested in what you are studying, you are also
giving more attention to it. This increases your chances of
recalling it again from your memory when you need it.

2. You need to be able to focus well and put your full attention
on what you are learning. If you easily get distracted by things
around you, it will take you longer to memorize and remember
things. Find a quiet place so you can concentrate on what you
are reading, learning, or observing.

3. You must use your imagination. Be creative. Learn to
visualize what you are reading etc. I don’t mean just get the
pictures, really experience it with all your senses. Many memory
techniques require the person to think of the most outrageous
and exaggerated images to help them remember certain facts or
information. The funnier and more out-of-this-world the images,
the better chances you will retain data in your mind. Have fun
with it!

4. A healthy lifestyle can definitely help. A good diet, regular
exercise and enough sleep create a mind that is alert and
energetic. It is far easier to recall stuff when your mind is
alert and not sleepy. There are also some vitamins that
apparently help to improve memory. Check out your local health
food store.

5. Visualize some pleasant experiences you had recently. Try to
get get the sensations at the time, the feelings, the emotions,
the smells, the sounds, the sights, the colors. This will
freshen your mind and make it easier to retain information.

Let me know how it goes

Right Kinds Of Food!

Posted by admin on June 10, 2009
Posted under Memory Improvement

Recently, I had eaten the wrong kind of food for my body. As a result, I had indigestion. The physical discomfort due to indigestion caused me insomnia. After struggling for a very long time, I finally fell asleep around 4am. I woke up at around 8am the next morning. I was feeling both physically and mentally tired.

Due to tiredness, I could not concentrate on whatever I was trying to achieve for the day. This made me realized that I needed the right kind of foods and drinks for my body so that I will have ample energy to pursue financial freedom as defined by the Rich Dad’s series by Robert Kiyosaki.

What are kind of food or drink is considered right for my body? Basically a right kind of foods should satisfy the list of conditions listed below:

Firstly, the food or drink should be healthy for my body. The body needs a lot of food with a lot of fibers to enhance digestion. Thus, it is important to take a lot of vegetables and fruits since they contain a lot of fibers.

Taking too much meat will harm the body in the long term because there is lack of fibers. The problems will usually appear as irritable bowels, piles and so on. Thus, there is a need to strike a balance between eating vegetables, fruits and meats. When I have balance meals, then I will be healthy and thus save on unnecessary medical cost. In other words, I will have more money, time and energy to create wealth.

Secondly, the food or drink should not be allergic to my body. If I eat seafood and end up with rashes, then that mean I should avoid seafood altogether. Rashes cause me to feel discomfort and thus rob me of the energy to create wealth. Similarly, if I drink alcoholic drink and end up with rashes, then I should avoid alcoholic drink too. When I end up with rashes, I will need to consult doctor to cure the rashes. I will end up losing money, time and energy in order to recover.

Thirdly, the food or drink should not excite or drug my body. Most food or drink do not excite or drug my body. An example of a food that excites the body will be superb hot spicy food like tom yam soup. It is very nice to eat if you like hot and spicy food. But after finishing it, my mouth may feel so spicy and hot that I become too restless and preoccupied with the after effects for the rest of the day.

A good example of a drink that drugs the body will be alcoholic drink. Excessive alcoholic drinks cause the physical body and the brain to be drugged. That is why there is a lot of car accident due to drunk drivers. They cannot judge or function properly. Accidents caused loss of life as well as financial loss. If the driver is not properly insured, he may end up with a lot of debts paying for medical fees, compensating the injured parties and so on.

Next, the food or drink should not be addictive in nature. Water is not addictive in nature but it is essential for my body since a large percentage of my body is made up of water. Coffee is a good example of an addictive drink. It contains a substance known caffeine that will cause addiction. It is like a very minute drug but the way that it works is the same as any addictive drug.

If you have been drinking coffee regularly, you will notice that you are very tired if you do not drink coffee for the day. This is the reaction of the body when it fails to consume caffeine. It not much different from a drug addict who fails to consume drug and feel the withdrawal symptoms.

Please note that if I like the food or drink, it may not necessary mean that my body is addicted to that food or drink. When I like a particular food or drink, I can stop them without any physical discomfort to my body. Though I may suffer from mental unhappiness because I cannot eat my favorite food or take my favorite drink, I do not suffer physically. When I am addicted to a food or drink, my body will suffer physically if I stop taking them. These physical discomforts will cause mental sufferings that will ultimately force me to crave for the addictive food or drink.

As you can see, the wrong kind of food will cause lose of money, time and energy either directly or indirectly. In conclusion, I feel that I should take care of my body by watching what I eat so that I will have more money, time and energy to work on my investments in assets that will generate passive income. Based on my understanding of the Rich Dad’s series by Robert Kiyosaki.

The Most Important Benefits Of Vitamins

Posted by admin on June 10, 2009
Posted under Memory Improvement

It is no secret that the standardized mass food production, especially the fast food chains, have distorted the normal vitamin intake of great numbers of people, particularly the city dwellers. It’s increasingly hard to stay healthy for people relying on modern industrially-produced foods. The change of agricultural technologies has been one of the reasons, and the eating habits of our contemporaries are another. Add to this the losses sustained by the quality of foods during transportation, storage, freezing and defrosting, and the picture becomes quite unwelcoming.

Solution appeared from the same source that had begot the problem, - progress. Since we are not getting a proper vitamin intake from our food, due to various technological innovations, we can expect those same innovations to produce vitamins separately from food, in concentrated dozes.

Among the dozens of vitamins, acids and minerals, there are more essential and less important, there are those that are critical for certain ages and certain climate zones, yet they all are indispensable in one way or another.

A short description of the most essential vitamins could like this:

* Vitamin A is considered an effective anti-oxidant, a promoter of healing processes, it is also important for eyes, and has a role in the skin health;

* Vitamin C is absolutely fundamental for the immune system, for the organism’s ability to produce collagen, for the eye health (helps prevent cataracts), for the maintenance of the arterial system;

* Vitamin E is best know for its anti-oxidant effects, for its role in promoting healing processes, cordial conditions, possibly reducing the risks cancer;

* Vitamin B12 is especially important for children because of its role in growth processes and the work of brain, - shortage of this diet component may result in disrupted growth in children, bad memory, chronic depression; B12 is also critical for the formation and maintenance of the nerve tissue;

* Vitamin K has a role in keeping the density of blood at a normal level preventing it from becoming dangerously thick; it also has a positive effect in bone conditions such as osteoporosis;

* Beta-carotene, like Vitamins A and E, is an anti-oxidant, and has beneficial effects on the functioning of the arterial system; Beta-carotene is also important as an anti-cancer agent.

* Biotin is indispensable in the metabolism, in breaking down fats, proteins and carbohydrates; it is believed that Biotin is beneficial for diabetics by normalizing the glucose levels.

* Folic acid has a reputation of a nutrient very useful for pregnant women; it is also reported to have positive effects in conditions like Alzheimers; additionally, it has a role in cordial health.

One thing you should remember is that our modern world is treating you large amount of free radicals related to pollution , fertilizers, etc, and it is essential to counter-act them with anti-oxidants. Make proven anti-oxidants, like Vitamins A and E, a part of your daily nutrients intake.

Water as Fuel Supplement, to create free gasoline. Part 1

Posted by admin on June 6, 2009
Posted under Memory Improvement

Water as Fuel Supplement
May 8, 2008.
Ari Cohen & Fred Gutierrez of water4gas spoke about the technology for converting water into hydrogen, which can be used as a supplement for gasoline or diesel in order to boost performance and increase gas mileage. The conversion device installed in a car or truck, allows the engine to burn water as well as gasoline. This “hydrogen on demand” system was actually invented 100 years ago, but has been more recently popularized by Ozzie Freedom, who authored two e-books on the subject, said Cohen.

According to Cohen & Gutierrez, the device, which includes a couple vacuum hoses and wires, is fairly simple to install. It uses a little electricity from the car battery to separate water into a gas called HHO (2 parts Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen) which helps the engine run a little cooler and burn fuel more efficiently. Cohen compared the system to a person taking a diet pill, which tells your brain you’re not hungry.

The ionization process of the electrolysis pulls and separates the oxygen from the hydrogen, explained Gutierrez, who has installed some five hundred systems in vehicles. Finally, there’s a useable technology that allows people to do something to counteract the high price of gas, as well as get a tax break for using a hybrid system, they noted.

What Is Freelance Food Writing?

Posted by admin on June 4, 2009
Posted under Memory Improvement

If you have a good appetite and a way with words, food writing may be a career option to consider. Not only is doing research for food writing one of the more enjoyable tasks in freelance writing, but you’ll never be short of restaurant recommendations and potential free meals — though you may run short of well-fitting pants.

To become a successful freelance food writer, you’ll need to know how to describe food well. The key to description, at least in traditional literature, is to make focused, concrete comparisons. To see why, ask yourself which sentence you find more appealing: “It was the tastiest shrimp I’ve ever eaten,” or “The lime-pressed garlic shrimp, grilled over applewood, had a texture between the crunch of caramelized sugar and the soft resistance of a medium-rare salmon filet”?

The fundamental law of food writing is to make your reader wish that he or she had some of whatever delicious dish you’re writing about, to make the reader personally invested in the food. And there’s a strange quirk in the human mind: whenever we think about an object or activity, we activate the parts of our brain that turn on whenever we’re interacting with that object or engaged in that activity. In other words: if we think about throwing a baseball, the nerves in our arm twitch. Or, if we think about eating a thick steak, our stomach grumbles and our mouth waters. When you’re writing about food, you want to activate those same parts of the brain to make your reader feel that he or she is sharing in the experience of eating it. Words like “tasty,” “delicious,” or, worst of all, “really good,” won’t do anything for your reader’s emotions. Only words related to food — or words and images with strong emotional connotations — will really get your readers’ mouths watering.

Once you’ve written your articles, where do you market your food writing? If you live in a large city, you can write for a local newspaper or an alternative paper (i.e. the LA Weekly, the Austin Chronicle, etc.). Millions of people read these papers daily or weekly, and a good portion of those millions read the food section. When anyone in a major city needs to make restaurant reservations for a date, business dinner, party, or other social engagement, they look in the food section of the local paper for hot new restaurant reviews. Stay on top of restaurant openings and closings in your city. New restaurant openings can be your “bread and butter.” Local newspapers and online city guides are always wanting to print new restaurant reviews.

If you have a favorite local hangout that not many people know about, write an article on it. Submit your article with a proper query letter to a local newspaper. You might be the first one to write about the place, throwing needed business their way. In the end, you collect a decent paycheck from the newspaper, along with a published clip, a byline, and hopefully more work and referrals.

Another option is to write for magazines dedicated to food, dining, city nightlife, general lifestyles, or for the tourist market. If you plan to write for magazines, your choice of what to write about becomes much broader. You can write how-to articles, interview pieces, cookware reviews, and so on. If you plan to write for local tourism guides, your best bet is to write restaurant reviews. Tourists may not know about any of the well-known restaurants or diners in the area. Tourism guides provide insight and guidance to what’s hot and what’s not in the area. This means that there’s a steady flow of potential readers for your restaurant reviews and other food writing.

If you don’t live in a large city, it’s much more difficult to become a food writer. The mom n’ pop cafe downtown may have some of the best omelets you’ve ever tasted, but how are you supposed to sell an article if everyone in town already eats at that cafe every Friday night? Consider selling your articles to regional magazines. The Department of Transportation in several US states often publishes a monthly magazine about regional news. The editors of these magazines often look at local restaurant reviews as a source of human interest, or a way of boosting out-of-state tourism to non-traditional destinations.

Additionally, you might try writing sample copy for cookbooks, press releases for food suppliers, or ads for food companies. Companies and book publishers hire good food writers to help market anything from new varieties of pasta sauce to gourmet steak dishes. Even a nearby supermarket might be willing to pay for copy in weekly ad flyers.

Unfortunately for rural types, full-time food writing is more often than not an urban game. For urban types, food is one of the products that won’t ever stop being popular, especially when it’s offered as part of a good restaurant experience. Thus food writing means job security, and more importantly than that: it’s just outright enjoyable writing. So get to it!

Causes for Memory Loss

Posted by admin on June 4, 2009
Posted under Memory Improvement

To maintain normal function, the brain must receive a certain combination of nutrients and oxygen in order to serve you properly, and that includes general health down to remembering where you left your keys.

But the brain needs more than that to maintain your memory. It also needs neurotransmitters and the nutrients that help them function and as well as protection from a variety of environmental toxins.

Specifically, in order to maintain proper brain health and a good memory, you must have enough B vitamins and amino acids.

Even if you take supplements, if you have a high amount of cholesterol and triglycerides in your blood, then you lose the benefits of these nutrients.

These are blockers to blood flow and the blood is the only way for your nutrients to get to the brain. When your brain is deprived the blood and nutrients it needs, the health of your memory suffers.

Have you ever been in the middle of a sentence and had the word you were about to say escape you? This could be your brain giving you a hint that it needs more nutrients.

These nutrients directly support the neurotransmitters that are like electrical connections in the brain, helping you pass impulses and information back and forth to where they need to be.

Aging, also, affects memory loss, but there are other conditions that may speed up aging, which in turn, debilitates your memory and may include diseases such as Alzheimer’s and forms of dementia.

Health issues like allergies, candidiasis, stress, thyroid problems, hypoglycemia, and diabetes affect aging and memory loss directly.

Alcohol, drugs, environmental toxins like free radicals contribute to these conditions and can also affect memory loss directly as well.

The following ten questions form part of a common test as they cover both the short and the long term memory and also test for orientation as well.

· How old are you?

· What is your date of birth?

· What day is it today?

· What month are we in?

· What year is it?

· When was the first world war?

· What is the name of the President / Prime Minister?

· Where are you now?

· Can you please count backwards from 20 to 1?

· Tell them an address, then ask them to repeat it back to you after five minutes.

Although the test is deceptively easy it is also very useful as it’s quick, cheap, non-evasive and helps diagnose Alzheimer’s disease or dementia and gives an indication of the areas in the patient’s memory that may be affected.

To combat memory loss, eat well and drink lots of water. Rest, exercise, and avoid smoking, drugs, and excessive amounts alcohol. Stay away from stress and if your memory loss continues, consult a doctor.
